One of the toughest aspects of my job is telling people that they may not get everything they are asking for. The Judicial branch seems formidable from the outside, imposing courthouses, strict rules, judges in black robes. For those of us who do not work in the court system going to court is a big deal, scary for alot of people. It is easy to think that a system so big and powerful is always right, cranks out decision like a machine, never makes mistakes. That is not true, the judicial system is made up of human beings, all of the decisions are made by people. Judges, like the rest of us, are not gods, we all make mistakes, Judges are no exception.
Cases usually work out the way they should, but, be prepared, no attorney can guarantee a result, anything can happen in court, if you can settle your case outside of court there are a lot of advantages. Be wary of any attorney who says they are sure about what will happen in court, as they cannot be.
