Formerly known as the Con Man, (or Con Woman), they specialize in taking advantage of people by getting them involved in questionable business ventures. The best ones work the old fashioned way, in person, schmoozing their victims into giving them large amounts of money, or access to money. I have had several cases involving Hustlers in the last few months. They are not easy to spot. To my clients, they appeared to be normal, legitimate business people proposing a mutually beneficial arrangement.
How do you spot a Hustler and avoid getting taken? When preparing to do business with someone you do not know well, do background checks, find out if they have been in trouble before, Hustlers usually have bad records and have usually been in trouble before. If you are dealing with someone and see red flags, the sooner you take legal action the better.
